€5,000 to €9,000

10 windows at Expert Windows & Doors' published €500 to €900 a window for standard uPVC, installed (VAT not stated). Our multiplication, not a quote. At BuildTech's €350 to €700 a window, it's €3,500 to €7,000.

  • SEAI's median cost of new windows on a semi-D or end of terrace was €7,110, and €10,453 on a detached house, January to June 2026.
  • If the house qualifies, the SEAI windows grant is €3,000 on a semi and €4,000 on a detached house. Check the grant on windowgrants.ie.
  • Windows supplied and fitted are at the 13.5% VAT rate (Revenue). Ask whether the written price includes it.

How this is worked out

The number of windows you pick, times Expert Windows & Doors' published installed price a window for that frame. BuildTech's published price a window is shown next to it where it gives one. The multiplication is ours. Prices read on 3 November 2026. Neither page says whether VAT is in. Size counts: a big picture window or a bay costs more than a small bathroom window, and doors are extra. It's an estimate, never a quote.

Types

Casement, tilt and turn, French and sash

  • Casement: side or top hung, the window on most Irish houses and the lowest price.
  • Tilt and turn: tilts in at the top for air, swings in to open fully, so you can clean the outside from indoors.
  • French: two sashes that open from the middle with no post between them.
  • Flush sash: the opening part sits level with the frame, like a timber window.
  • Sliding sash: the period look, in uPVC. See sash windows.

Colours

White, grey or woodgrain

White is the base price. Anthracite grey, black and woodgrain foils cost more, and Expert Windows & Doors prices coloured uPVC with triple glazing at €700 to €1,200 a window (Expert Windows & Doors). Ask for the colour inside and out separately: many people have grey outside and white inside.

FAQ

Questions people ask

How much is a uPVC window in Ireland?

€500 to €900 installed (Expert Windows & Doors); €350 to €700 supplied and fitted (BuildTech); €300 to €800 at Kenny Windows.

How long do uPVC windows last?

The frames last for decades. Seals, hinges and glass units wear first, and can be replaced on their own.

Are uPVC windows A-rated?

Many are. The rating belongs to a named frame and glass from one maker: ask to see it. See A-rated windows.

Is uPVC or aluminium better?

uPVC costs less and insulates well. Aluminium gives slimmer frames and more glass for a higher price. See frames compared.
